The worlds first 3D printing restaurant

3D Printing has come a long way in recent years, having slowly expanded our ability to 3D print in a variety of materials. FoodInk, the worlds first 3D Printing Restaurant, is now bringing the ability to print various food dishes. The restaurant uses 3D printers created by Dutch company ByFlow to create dishes from any type of food that can be made into a paste, such as chocolate mousse or smashed peas. Like any normal 3D printer, the filament paste is fed through the extruder to create culinary masterpieces.

FoodInk employs the skills of experts from multiple professions such as architects, artists, chefs, designers and engineers in order to successfully create their pop-up restaurant. Ultimately FoodInk aims to promote the future of sustainable food and nutrition through growing technologies such as 3D printing.

Currently operating in Venlo, the Netherlands, Food Ink will pack up shop and travel to London in late July. The pop-up gastropub lets diners eat in a 3D printed environment with the majority of the restaurants furniture (including 3D printed stools by architect Arthur Mamou-Mani) instructed via 3D printing.
